To bar manager Mike Varrin, Whistler is about après, the way people come together at the end of the day to tell stories and recount adventures and misadventures.
To restaurateur and sommelier Andre St Jacques, Whistler is theatre - a dramatic performance featuring world-class chefs and ingredients set against the nightly percussion of avalanche bombs.
The truth is: Whistler, British Columbia, Canada is all these things, and more.
On a physical scale, Whistler's 8,171 acres of skiable terrain certainly measures up to anyone's wildest dreams. But the passion here is outsized too, as is the opportunity for you to have the time of your life.
The Whistler Sabbatical Project is an initiative of Tourism Whistler and its more than 6,500 members, created as a means for sharing the passion for the mountains that defines this place.
